Martinez 1930s Bungalow Kitchen
This charming 1930s bungalow in Martinez is proof that a historic home can embrace modern functionality without losing its personality.
For this project, we transformed a dated kitchen into a bright, inviting space featuring Starmark Cabinetry, improved storage, and thoughtful design details that celebrate the home’s vintage character. One of the biggest improvements was increasing storage by extending cabinetry around the corner with shallow base cabinets, creating additional upper cabinet space without overwhelming the room. Thoughtful Design Details That Make a Difference
This fun retro-inspired kitchen is filled with character. The standout feature is the flooring, which instantly sets the tone for the space and happens to be the same style featured in Steve Martin’s apartment on Only Murders in the Building. The homeowners also incorporated a beautifully restored antique range, adding a whimsical touch from the past that perfectly complements the home’s bungalow charm.
The result is a kitchen that feels timeless, functional, and full of personality.
